Does this have any effect? Of all the sacks I've witnessed, none of them came while diving that I could tell.

My blitzing LB's have had a few diving misses, and slightly fewer successful diving sacks. It's a little rare but it does happen. At least I think it does.

Did you put any points into it, or were those attempts just off the strength of other skills?

My Veteran blitzing LB has 51 diving. However, I'm not sure I've seen a diving sack attempt (successful or not) from a d-lineman.

Unclear. I mean, he's pretty good as a pass rusher, so he's worked out very well. But as for the diving, not sure if SP would've been better spent elsewhere. I can't give you an answer to that beside "I don't know".

I think it can make sense on a blitzing LB build against balanced teams and assuming that LB also has a basic level of tackling skills.

Could lead to some TFLs on rushing plays basically.
