I've noticed that it seems to fire while the ball is still way in the air. Does bronze first step even work for a Returner? If not, is gold effective at least?

I think its a top return SA, it fires quite a bit after the catch and alot after making the cut around blockers too. I would say its worth the investment to gold First Step for a returner.

It's barely useful. Only lets him burst through if he ever survives the stutter through the group of blocking interactions. Maybe resulted in 2-3 extra return TDs through the life of his career. This was with 100 sprinting/quickness

What would you recommend in place of first step?

Juke / Stiff Arm - Gold, First Step - Silver, if Elusive.

Power Through / Freight Train - Gold, Stiff Arm - Silver, if Power.
