I haven't really looked at the game since S16 of GLB1. Back then, it mattered when you made your player for boosting.

If I am thinking about coming back (with some friends) does it matter if we make a player before this current season ends? Will we be at any kind of development disadvantage?

can make players anytime.
you would most likely want to make players within the next few days - and do not click the 'experienced' box. that way you will be ready for rookie in a few days when the new season starts.

No disadvantage - but if you select to build an experienced player, you will then be entering sophomore season instead of rookie season.

There's no advantage to boosting later like there was in GLB1. Most competitive teams boost at the start of a season.

Rookie (first) season is very competitive unlike GLB1 where everyone just tries to set up for future success. Obviously it is up to you - I would strongly suggest taking a season doing player building before diving all-in on building a full team with your friends.

http://glb2.warriorgeneral.com/game/forum/thread/5242014 <- Highly recommend this. Will help you learn the ropes, and lots of great agents who will give you advice on player building and whatnot

Best of luck!

Thanks for the replies, guys. We had a lot of fun with GLB1 back in the early days, and some of us were waxing nostalgic the last few days and are considering a comeback tour.
