Most teams I see run ZEB most of the time. I've tried hard not to use a ZEB defense, but the first few levels, it works insanely good. Anyone else notice the effectiveness of ZEB this season compared to last few?

ZEB is SOOO season 4 . . .

I don't think I use it in any of my D's

I have used zeb since season 2, solid blitz vs 2 wr sets.

Oh, interesting. All the Houston Gamblers used to do was ZEB. You've switched the D around.

Generally if you rely only on ZEB you will not find yourself in the top 5 and likely not the top 10.

I agree, it just seems I see this D from many teams, including the top ones in the lower leagues. It's pretty effective against the inside and outside runs this season compared to the past where you could run up the middle no problem against it. Seems the changes made it more effective.

It isn't reliable against good teams because they will catch you with the plays that beat it really bad. Especially teams that are built balanced because they generally will be able to catch you with running the ball very well and use the short passing plays to beat it at the same time.

The reason it is widely used is because ya it is a decent blitz, but also people tend to use really bad plays in bad situations.

I mean our team in rookie uses zero edge blitz when its needed. But we run mostly other plays and have given up the 2nd least points. (A ton of yards though)

ZEB is a nice 3rd and long blitz...but then again so is just about anything that rushes 6+
