Right now you are in rookie Tier.

Tiers are:

Rookie
Sophomore
Seasoned
Journeyman
Professional
Veteran

If you continue with your team next season (without resetting it back to rookie) it will naturally progress to become a sophomore team.

It's not a matter of promotion anymore, its about age.

So as your players get older, the team promotes to the next level of play.

League/Ladder system is about how well you do against your peers (age group), once you reach veteran you try and reload and stay atop the ladder rankings.

Ladder opponents are generated by teams within 25 ranks of you each week. (a week being an off day, a ladder game, and a league game) In rookie and sophomore you can only face teams within your tier. Once you hit Seasoned you have the ability to possibly play teams a tier ahead of you depending on where you rank.

Rankings are basically meant to just pick out better opponents for you and give you teams to face within your talent pool but they also obviously offer bragging rights.

toward the end of the season a box will show up on your team page.

1: You have not renewed your team -- renew it if you want to keep it

2: Check this box to reset back to rookie next season. This cannot be undone.

If you do pay the flex to renew your team....and if you do NOT check the box to reset -- you will wake up the 1st day after the season ends with a sophomore team...whether you re-signed all of your players...or not.
