Do kickers need snap reaction at all? I ask only because my player's potential is so high in that category and I thought it was a bit strange.

I seriously doubt it. Like 99.9% sure it doesn't.

kick is scripted and so far seems unblockable, so not a big deal if your kicker gets started a little late.
