Can someone tell me the details of this?

Step 1.

Find someone to let you be a coach (they give you privileges to set tactics for their team).

Step 2.

Set the team's playbooks and tactics to reflect your own.

Step 3.

Change your playbooks/tactics for each scheduled game!

I'd recommend getting through some of the player motions first, though. A season or two of really getting into the player side (hanging out with some of the Watch parties that go on with the top teams would be a good place to learn, too). To be an effective coordinator you really have to understand the game and how you can set players up for success.

This.

I was planning on doing a team in Season 9 (last season) - decided to hold off one season to have a full season's worth of games to watch with my players, as well as get some advice from some more experienced players in the game. It was a great decision for me because here in Season 10 I feel like I understand more of the game.

Note: Make sure you use your other boost - it's free.

I'd also try to get him on a human team - you'll have access to that team's forum where they may discuss player building and whatnot. Seems like a good number of teams need a DE.

Not really anything to learn for STs lol. We don't have ST tactics.

You have got to learn how to post the right information in the right forums before offering to teach someone how to coach, bud.

DeRangED1, I rushed too quickly into trying to coach and got frustrated and almost just quit playing right after my first couple seasons. For that reason I second Romo's suggestion of learning how to be a good agent first. Be active, log on, read the forums a lot, and listen to advice from the coaches on a decent human controlled team.

The thing about GLB2 is that it doesn't necessarily mirror real life football. So just understanding basic football Xs and Os in real life won't translate super well here. So treat it like a brand new skill to learn and in a season or two coaching will be much more feasible.

There wouldn't be anything wrong with being an assistant coach on a team and learning from an experienced coach. (Check their coaching record.)

Although I agree with most of what you said, this I disagree to an extent. Real life football philosophies do transfer to the sim. The issue is the sim doesnt mirror pro football, or any other level really. It has to be evaluated on its own, and then you can apply football knowledge and experience. Every level of the game has to be evaluated in this way, a great small college coach who runs the options, is going to have to reevaluate his X's and O's if he lands a major college or pro gig. Same thing here you have to recognize the strengths and weaknesses of the talent pool not only on your team but league and tier wide, and you have to mold your X's and O's to reflect what you can run successfully in this level of football. I started coaching the first week or so after I started this game and have been somewhat successful the entire time, so it isnt impossible.

I'm doing a learning opportunity with RIF this season. If you're willing to DC you can learn from the best.
