What is the most you can field? An entire O or D with no depth?

QB
RB
FB
TE
2xOT
2xG
C
2xWR

3xDT
2xDE
2xLB
2xCB
SS
FS

Could an entire side of the ball be S*s?

You could definitely have double digit S*'s, but it requires cutting your player number real low. Basically you need to go dangerously shallow.

You can buffer that somewhat with getting a bunch of high conditioning superstars, but there's a point of diminishing return with adding another superstar.

I'd be more interested in seeing a pure S* defense than offense.

Pure 5-2 with all S*s could be manageable since the DTs are the cheapest

My new team will have 10 S*'s total

1 rQB
1 HB
1 FB
2 OT
2 G
1 LB
1 SS
1 FS

Going with the 36 roster minimum. It's definitely an unconventional team, and it was a pain to round them all up. Not sure I'd have been able to do it without my first teams decent track record.

I know there was a team in Rookie S4 that ran like 13 superstars on one team with low contracts and they did ok. The owner never really had much success and the team folded after a few seasons. I think the team was like Jershong Stipling Warriors or something.

It's difficult to go with an entire side of the ball as S*'s. You will run into issues with having the minimum number of players. Like in your example, that is an 11 man defense, so even with 3 special teamers you would still need 22 players on offense.

You could do an entire 5-2 for sure. GA could swap HBs for the 2 LBs, and we could cut an OT and have plenty of money to upgrade a DE. The second DE would probably require cheap traiting teamwide to pull off.

And that'd be with a backup for every spot on defense.

I don't think I'd want to do it. It might make sense to do something like swap the DTs for LBs... but I wouldn't give up the S* HBs for them.
