I will trade you all the mediocre teams I have faced for all the gutted opponents you have gotten to pound out.

My morning thought is to give a slight extra bump to the k value when you beat/lose to a tier above/below you.

This would help the good Pro teams gain ELO that are beating the bad Vet teams who would lose a little more ELO.

Yes, you'd have all kinds of exceptions in the middle of the Ladder (Seasoned through Pro) and I'm sure there will be all kinds of issues, complaints, etc. that people could come up with, but in the end: Does anyone really care?

Yes, a Seasoned team that is ranked higher than a Journeyman team in ELO/Ladder would gain more ELO if there was a bump like I described above. And I'm sure that might tick people off. But again, as a community, do we really care?

The biggest Ladder issues are at the top of the Ladder; not the mid-range teams.

I don't really care if the LZ Boys are 52, 53 or 60. Other people might and I'm not here to tell them they shouldn't. It's their game too.

But if you gain an ELO bump for beating a lower ranked, but higher tier team, for one game is that really going to effect the GLB universe?

Perhaps this is a bridge too far, but I'd rather have Ladder distortions at Seasoned/Journeyman/Pro than at Vet.

That is again an extra part of a fomular...The K value doesnt have any "if"s in the current code I guess and according to a post of CDog in an other thread he would likely just change the formula by K value adjustment

Nevertheless I agree with you
