I think a couple better defensive goalline plays would be a better answer than removing any formations or plays.

If you simply removed GL formations from the offense - I wouldn't really have an issue either -- but I'm certain there would be a lot of annoyed/unhappy people

There is no goal line package, so that would have to be created. Also, what would happen to all that playbooks that have only 5 outside run plays in the playbook and 3 of them are goal line?

I am just not sure you get that though without creating an entirely new formation, flipping 4-4 Big like I did in the Dplay thread, or creating some really silly all strong side zone. All really just for 2 plays that aren't really meant for all day use.

Why don't we just put Dragon riding and weapons in the game. It'll be just as unrealistic.

your team is 9-8-1. Sure only because of GL

Kinda funny to think the game is called Goal Line Blitz, and Goal Line Blitzes are the worst plays in the game.

maybe --(forgive my programming ignorance) but with offensive play selection:

Outside playbook:
I sweep
big I counter
trips strong
spread off tackle
GL sweep
GL QB roll out

AI dictates an outside run is called:
- Play is chosen
- is chosen play GL?
- is ball within the opponents 5 yard line?
if yes: run it
if no: choose again

If there is no non-GL play in the playbook -- sucks to be you - run an inside run or pass instead.

My point?

I dont care if you remove it or not. As CDog pointed out, there are many other plays you can abuse newbies with and that work against 90% of all defenses pretty good. I use the play in some games and then I use other plays in others. The real problem about it is you can be lazy, otherwise it will just be replaced with a new spam.

I kinda like that we have a formation with that many blockers...it shouldnt be removed. It should just have better defenses to attack it

Including better plays in the default GL package is the perfect solution. No more stat padding against inactive/CPU/unsuspecting or novice rookie teams
