The problem (in my estimation) with GLB2 and (I assume) Warrior General is money. As we all know, Corndog works almost 24 hours a day already on either GLB2 / Mighty Brawlers / GLB1. It is kind of silly I think. At the same time, Bort only makes very rare appearances over here and I couldn't even guess how much he is currently working on GLB2.

At the same time - many users are are coming up with lots of ideas for tweaks and changes to improve game play. Beyond that - Stobie is working his tail off adding much needed and much loved tweaks using his outside the game scouter (available for a reasonable subscription fee).

Based on all of - it seems to me that the problem with the game is money. If GLB2 was doing what GLB1 was doing in its first few months of creation - I'm confident we would have much more of Bort's attention and time. But it doesn't seem to be doing well enough for true "growth" commitment.

They also probably have a minimal knowledge of what kind of budget they will be working with over the course of Season 9 and into the offseason.

So - why not use Kickstarter? (Right now as an example - I could picture multiple campaigns: defensive plays / pass coverage tweak / SA overhaul / tournaments / etc / etc)

GLB2 Project #1: 20 new defensive plays (I won't bother going into detail - but we need a lot of new defensive plays here -- we need D plays focused on stopping outside runs -- we need D plays focused on doubling a specific WR or TE -- we need D plays stop counters without relying ONLY on the DE to be well built -- etc).

Project will commence when X$ are reached (I have no idea what the internal costs are - but this would be internal costs x2 or something like that).

Contribution / Rewards
$2.50 / 250 flex (just like you currently get)
$4.50 / 500 flex (just like you get now)
$9.99 / 1200 flex (just like now)
$25.00 / 3200 flex and a custom mod approved under title
$100.00 / 15000 flex and you get to name one of the new plays (first come / first serve)
$150.00 / 25000 flex and 25 free scrim tokens

(whatever you get the point).

Advantages:

- Warrior General has a better idea of upcoming revenue
- WG can specifically tie revenue to specific projects and new programming\
- 'free' advertising at kickstarter
- Players can voice their opinions by voting with their dollars if they choose
- Players can influence upcoming projects
- Players can choose with their dollars what they think the most important changes for the game really are

Disadvantages:
- people don't like new things
- even though this is simply a normal flex purchase with a vote attached to it - people will roit over paying for something they think should be free
- txsteve is a moran
- too long didn't read

If WG had a kickstarter campaign -- and it was going to cost $5000.00 raised to get 5 new defensive plays (just pretending here) - wouldn't you be excited that your next flex purchase was getting you flex AND influencing the direction of the game? I would.

I like the idea, doubt they would ever do it though. Also kickstarter takes 5%, so it's not "free".

I don't see this one happening. If people would like to contribute to the game(s) they can already do that directly by purchasing Flex Points and/or by referring a friend.

And if it's an issue of people being able to better voice their opinions about the game... I don't believe we're experiencing a shortage of opinions being voiced at the moment. Believe me, we hear you.
