Or how little do you think such a corner could get away with?

Conversely corners can lose a lot of ground against a speed receiver when they flip their hips to turn and run with them instead of backpedaling. Would there be any benefit to a higher speed/quickness/balance corner with zero footwork. Whose only goal was to turn and run as quickly as possible to stop the deeper routes?

Ya footwork. it's huge for turning, and the packpeddling alone is enough to invest. If a WR hits first step and you have low footwork, your boned. Same scenario is an argument for some snap reaction. We've got snap and foot on all of our cb's on MMA and we don't get burned long and we played sugar honey ice tea and dexter morgan last season.

Alright after looking at some non-s* guys, you can get away with 50/50 foot/quick but it's going to be average coverage. I would say that is a hard minimum.

But if you can get 70/60 your gonna get turning like our superstar kevin smith http://glb2.warriorgeneral.com/game/player/65439

Ok, but what about if you had 100 footwork? How low can you take quickness and speed and still be alright because you have 100 footwork?

Footwork is how fast your guy can move. It's the engine. Quickness just rotates him to get to the privilege of opening up sprint speed in a single direction. Your players desired direction, and his facing direction must align in order to open up for sprint speed, and anytime he is not aligned in this manner, footwork is powering his speed. Quickness most likely increases the cone radius at which he can run at sprint speed, allowing for light turning without breaking out of it. So if you are running around a blocker, he will be breaking out of the quickness navigation and back into footwork sustained power. Footwork is a great means of transportation and allows for changing directions, but when you want your guy to do something sprint and quickness are what you'll wish you had, and 50/50 is really low on a CB. I'd say go for at least 65 sprinting to be perfectly realistic.

If you could keep him away from covering speed WRs or atleast deep routs then lower could work (in theory) and could work well as it would allow him to pump other attributes higher.
