Sonics are sticking around. Next season we will lose to you twice in the regular season and then beat you in the playoffs.

Crowd says: "Everybody is staying"

Later...

GLB scrambles everyone into random leagues.

Well we have 6 rookie leagues. And based on inactive owners a few days ago we will lose at least 1 league. 14 teams either inactive or confirmed reset/not renewed. All 3 veteran owner rookie leagues only had 3 combined at that point so its a good chance one of the 3 rookie owner leagues fold.

i loved this league...great forum, great games. That said I'm resetting to rookie. I bought a team so that I could experiment and learn at a faster pace without interfering with others' game plans/builds. So next season I will be testing a running offense and a zone defense. Give me a few seasons and maybe I will get this giant game of paper, rock, scissors figured out.

I'm warning you right now, zone defenses are only useful for stopping the run, they're literally the worst thing you can do to try to defend passing games.

That's what I've been reading. I'm just testing one extreme after another to figure out how I want to build a long term team. Really wish I had more time to devote to playing.

you can't build a uniform defense and expect them to be good against everyone.

Absolutely. I'm just testing the extremes to know what is possible and testing different approaches. This season I had a pure 100% passing offense with 5 totally different WRs, 2 widely different TEs, and 2 very different RBs. I learned a ton. Same thing goes for defense but it seems to be even more extreme. I learned the hard way this season that I need to have a gameplan for running, passing, and balanced teams with playbooks for each using a consistent strategy before I ever build my first player on D. This season I was in a tough spot because my D was 'okay' at a lot of things but never quite good enough to take over. Noob mistake but I was running D like I was playing Madden and the stronger teams in our league took advantage of it.

Also understand unlike 100% run, 100% pass in rookie can take upwards of half the season to be effective. Balance offense can lean on the run early to help depending how far balanced they want to call it. Run only teams can come right out the gate.
