Where was all this smashed to fuck? Pretty decent games. We threw the 2nd league game if it wasn't obvious.

no offense....but seriously --- who would think running quarter defenses with 5 CBs who can't tackle on the field is a good plan against a running team?

40 times we had our 2WR sets against QTR defenses. Who would do that? Why would you do that?

Because nothing else I tried works and I had to try something? I noticed in Qtr D the CB's would eat up the blockers and my Safeties could have a clean shot on the HB's up the middle. My safeties missed 17 tackles total. I guess 80/40/40 guys should be considered guys that can't tackle as well.

would you expect an 80 man aware / 40 cov tech / 40 deflect guy to be able to cover?

I think a large part of Minnesota's success was based on luck.

Our original league (Adams) was very full of running teams (nebraska / holy guacamole / La Paz / and others I can't remember). Luck of the draw (by getting in that league) forced us to build run containing LB's and D line which has helped us a lot the last couple of seasons. That said - Nebraska committed fully to stopping the run before we did...and that is the season we lost the championship to them.

Had we dropped in a rookie league with you / compton / alpine / rhode island / etc --- we'd have done exactly what you all did and focused heavily on pass defense -- which (I believe) would have hurt us badly against top ladder teams.

I also believe (but I know some people disagree) that game planning against running teams is much tougher than game planning against passing teams -- so our coordinating and play calling got a big boost with lots of practice from being in Adams as well.

I don't know about that one Steve. The goal of just winning league championships ended when we got our first taste of it. Our greed of never being content has everything to do with our success. Even being #1 in our tier by a large margin is not good enough.

lol so build to beat 1 team and lose to literally every single other one, sounds cool

If you are built to beat the best. You're in a pretty good position against everyone else as well. Just because you are built to run stop up front, it doesn't mean that you have to sacrifice your coverage from your secondary. I think the stunners have some of the best pass cover CB's in the league.

Seems to me that's comparing apples to oranges. My point is I would think a guy with 80 Tackle should be able to get at least a few tackles.

Ya but a guy with 80 tackle and 40 morale is really tackling with how much? We don't know the formula, but it could be something like 40 or 50 tackling, vs a running back at 100% due to leadership buffs.

Yeah I understand not being able to tackle with bad morale. But, early in the game morale should still be high enough to make a tackle.
