I retired my S* LB today. Given the number of 3 Tier players I have, I should be able to build a new S* QB/HB/LB next season.

I don't see why this isn't in place. If there is a work around with retiring a S* before the last ladder then it should be what the OP is proposing.

Well, TBF, it only gives you one season towards.

It sounds like the OP is asking for the S* points to rebuild every season?

Yes, I've used the workaround in the past. So long as you get your team to cut them before last ladder or rollover (I don't know which), you at least gain back the number of S* points you would have earned that season had you not already had a S*.

you could easily have 1 guy have a team all him self with like a good chunk of his own S*s

or even perhaps you can only have 1 S* from that group of positions at a time that you own

you get points from when the player reaches the end of the tier on the xp scale, so you need to retire before the players who you want to get points from play their last games

agreed !!

Or just allow us to purchase the S* credit instead of creating all these shell players just to earn it illegally anyway
