or will 1st gen vets somehow be separated from 2nd gen vets in the ladder?

How about leagues? Will there be a mingling of leagues as well with 1st and 2nd gen vets in the same league?

Mixing is clearly the whole point. Once you get to vet, you're vet. Doesn't matter when you started. If a Planet league and an Animal league fold, there will be a mix of both years in the other leagues.

Leagues will prob stay intact until not enough teams to fill a league and then merge from the pool of teams left out of leagues. So in essence over time what ever leagues survive will be there.
