I think the RNG of the game is probably two or three times as relevant to the result of your own player than his heart or toughness, and this is what bothers me but I guess also makes the game fun.
As somebody who took HTH/RW solely for the SP value in the free heart/conditioning, I really don't think it matters so much in the final calculations. Lets say your morale loss/gains are influenced by:
your heart
your toughness
the opponents intimidation
applicable SA's
These are four or more layers you are sending you are sending any individual attribute through to affect the umbrella, morale.
But how influential is morale in the dice roll of a particular action? Conditioning, morale, presumably some elements of the on-field simulation (speed, space between players, etc.), and usually three or four sub attributes (like balance/vertical/interception/consistency for an int) are already all going into that. So how big a piece of the pie does that leave for morale? I'd say 10% would be a good estimate, maybe people would disagree.
When so many stats go into a calculation, and then that calculation becomes a minority part of a compounding calculation, the original value of the stats diminishes.
Really though I think what needs to be changed (since I only post to complain now it seems) is just the total SP for positions. I think the value of heart and toughness is fine, people will figure out the baseline and the meta will determine what becomes strong or not. Defenders just need more SP than the offense to be able to contain teams who stack different play-styles.
Giving all CB/LB/FS/SS bonus SP (I would say 229,000 SP to the 209,000 for offense, but even that is maybe too small a difference to matter.), nerfing one of the offensive run block SA's (maybe Wide Load to a 75% activation) but fixing HB's running out of bounds would get better scores, make getting defenders in the right spot matter more, and make the game a little harder for the offense (which is the biggest problem really).

Part of me has wondered if:
Chemistry really effects your performance in terms of reached potential. So - 100 chem = Full use of your stats. Whereas maybe 50 chem = a 20% penalty to your stats (just making up those numbers).
I've also wondered if Morale worked the same way. If zero morale = a 25% penalty to all stats or something. So it would effect everything instead of simply being 1 data point of 6 or 7 that affect an equation.
I've also wondered if stamina works the same way too.

Take a look at the music city miracle to see the effect of chemistry. We are just now returning to form

I believe:
1) Chem causes a % reduction to your skills.
2) Energy causes a % reduction to your skills, though possibly a greater effect on your physical skills than on your technical skills.
3) Morale causes a flat reduction to your skills, but an increased % diminishing effect on "pressure" plays.
I believe that each reduction is fairly minor, but that the hit is additive and cumulative.
Just how I have seen the sim work.

I think all 3 Chem, Morale, and Energy play a larger role that people think. On the Energy and Morale side there is a huge difference in play on your first drive than your last. You can also see a big difference in the 2nd half when you have finally broken a defenses morale and really start putting up the points on them. Chemistry is pretty easy to see, you go from basically no QB/C snap fumbles to 1-2 a game with no chem.

So do you think it affects relationship rolls (route running, timing, awareness, hand-offs, etc.) more than others?
I know that my S* DT with almost full run/pass stuffing skills has been caked a LOT this season, I think starting with 0 chem and having the team down has hurt him a lot.
Coming from a bhall team where you were used to being up (read, higher morale than the other side) might be part of it too.

My guess is that Morale affects your Technique(Mental) based skills and energy affects your physical skills.

if this is true, lolglb2. When a player, especially a lineman or a defensive player, is out of breath (or energy) in real football, literally the first thing they start losing is their technique.
