this is crap. I have to sign 1 guy at a time just to release 1 CPU player to make room $. First why do we have to carry 36 men in the off season? This really is a pain in the ass for watch your $.

Can we change this just for the off season. Once that is over. You get auto filled to 36.

Auto-cut isnt helping with that?

Corndog once mentioned, that they dont want teams to sign 15 S*s to an empty roster.

This. If you autofill later, you can sign a skeleton roster of Superstars, and then have CPU depth while being completely over the cap. The CPUs are needed for cap-hold purposes.

The whole point is that teams could circumvent that money and go OVER the cap if things went your way.

Let's say the roster was handed out clean, with 6.5 million of unspent salary. You could go out and sign two S* QBs, two S* HBs (2 million), eight S*s on the OL (another 2 million), five S* corners (2 million), putting you right at the cap with a 17 player roster. In a real game, this team would have to forfeit, but with the 36 man limit, you'd have CPUs added in. This suddenly gives you a studly offense, a great secondary, and role players to fill in the gaps, while totally exploiting the system.

Are you sure you have Auto-cut CPU checked? Every time I've filled a roster, it's worked fine for signing rookies.

It is marked. I get what some of the geeks would do in this game. I am sure there is something they could but in place to not let this happen. Like is someone did shit they would be booted from the game or better yet. Have that team play with that roster just with a big as hit for not having 36 players under the cap.. I bet those players on that team will get real tired of losing each game every season they chose to put a roster like that together

No it doesnt work. We just ran in the same problem. It seems as if the protocol is: sign player --> cut CPU player. So you go over the cap for a second.

I ran into this issue as well. The way I got around it, for higher tier teams, was to request some crazy low salary and I'd get a bunch of rookie CPU players at various positions with a low salary and renegotiate to give them all low contracts.

Then I'd sign players within the team's tier, still have cap, and cut the CPU players as needed. This really works with adding rookie CPU kickers and punters because their salaries are pretty low then cutting them when necessary.

Not sure how to get around it for a rookie team.
