Being on a CPU team sucks for new players. Sure - it is OK for some experienced players who are just stashing guys away in case they need them down the road...
But new player retention is what we need.
As a trial run - choose 10 agents -- or allow agents to volunteer - and then whittle it down to the apparent most reliable 10 agents who are interested.
In addition to any team they already own - put them in charge of a CPU team (for free of course) - Could be that you just make them GM to keep it simple. They run the team - they put a staff together - they put game plans in / etc -- and they mentor (in the team forum) players who have questions.
Same general CPU rules apply - there is no recruiting --- that happens automatically. So - no using this as your own private team. Also - no cutting players unless they go inactive for 10+ days.
Also - any player on one of those teams can still be signed away just like a current CPU team.
I'm sure there are flaws in this idea - and anyone who cares can improve it -- but it is my opinion that things aren't working at the moment for new players coming into the game -- and getting onto a CPU team...the best time to address some of these things would have been 4 months ago....but the second best time is right now.
