This seems like a really high number of fumbles for 80 on Carrying Grip.

Anyone else having this problem? Does anyone know how to reduce the fumbles?

I cannot figure out why he is fumbling so much. It's a power back build. Seems like he likes to run straight at the tackler more than evade the tackle or run out of bounds.

Do you have Mr. Reliable or Brace 4 Impact SA on him? Those help a whole bunch by increasing the floor on your rolls against fumbling.

Without one of them, you'll find yourself regularly still getting some bad rolls sometimes, which will cause much pain and gnashing of teeth.

And link the player. More info would be helpful for others to help you nail down the issue.

I think you have a point re the SA's. Only added first Mr Reliable SA today.

Also worth noting we're over 20 games played already. Certainly your 16 fumbles is high, but it's hard to put things into perspective when we're often at a 16 game NFL mentality.

Like I've got a HB with 13 fumbles, but I'm ok with that given that he's over 500 rushes in that span.

Especially when 3* Monster Hit puts a floor on the power tackle roll of 75% of the max. Doesn't matter if you have 80 carrying grip... if you are up against a LB with 80 Power Tackling and they get a Monster Hit, they are rolling a maximum of 95 and a minimum of 71. If you aren't rolling a carrying SA and you haven't negated the tackle in some other way, 80 carrying grip SHOULDN'T be enough.

Obviously no one knows if there is a floor on normal rolls (consistency seems to be a reasonable "floor" skill, but consistency also seems to mention pressure situations, so who knows... maybe there is always a floor, but sometimes the floor drops out with a bad consistency roll?).

Also no one knows how badly you have to fail the grip-to-tackle roll in order for a strip or FF to occur.

Further, no one knows the effect of morale, energy, toughness, intimidation, etc. on the roll...

same, I think fumbles should be toned down

http://glb2.warriorgeneral.com/game/player/26867 fumbles seem ok to me (on a serious note seems to be the cost of being a power back you can stay up and get more yards but more chances for strips while an elusive back leaves less chances for defense to strip him

Seems like all my fumbles are from big hits not strips

Yours are about half and half. You had 5-6 that I looked through that were fumbled after the initial grip from one defender. As to whether those classify as a strip or not I have no idea.

When did you add Mr. Reliable? One point doesn't bring the floor up nearly as much as two points.

68 Carrying Grip, 2* Mr. Reliable (since S1), half the fumbles.

When we got the AP this season. But when does carry grip actually matter through. I can get it to 98 somewhat cheaply (only cost 448sp to get to 87.)

I mean, there is no cure for fumbles, just what you can do to prevent them. I'm guessing that was a 3* Monster Hit and Mr. Reliable wasn't active.

I have a lot more elusive running and a bit more power running skill... maybe those helped?

I added Intimidation skill too... just because it activates for freight train and I thought it might help shake loose some defenders?

Mr. Reliable really helps the fluctuations that RNG is going to provide.

1 star bumps your carrying grip roll to 30% of max, 2 star to 50% and so forth.
