"Ability to see incoming blitzers and avoid them."

Ok, taking into account that my QB has finished his initial read, there would be 2 ways I would see to avoid blitzers:

- Moving
- Passing, even if no one is uncovered

I know that this skill helps for the movement, but is it only for that or it would helps a QB to know that he should just throw to the best option he sees available ? It would make sense to me, but when I read the tooltip, I get the feel that it's solely a mobility skill.

Am I seeing this too wide and it's just a movement skill ? What do you think ?

thank you and have a nice day/evening,

It really depends who you ask, I don't think we've come to a consensus on this yet.

The belief is that

- It helps to decide whether you hold back an HB/FB for example if you see the blitz
- It helps you try and sidestep
- It helps you release the ball

The first two I think are generally accepted and/or confirmed at some point, but I think the third is where most of the debate lies. There was a point last season where it seemed like people swore by Pocket Awareness because they'd invest a bunch and suddenly their sacks/hurries would drop but they were small samples.

I have Pocket Awareness as my ~5th important skill, right around conditioning/heart/pass power. The kind of secondary attributes I think you can't let totally lag behind but are less useful to you than technique/accuracy/consistency/awareness which I think are the "big four".

Personally I think the quality of your o-line and the kind of routes you are calling have more to do with your sack/hurry numbers than Pocket Awareness does - but I also tried to ignore pocket awareness completely at first and eventually had to put some points into it to see some improvement on that front, so it does do something.
