You guys are probably watching this more closely than I do (I know nothing about current sophomores)
But the new "sophomores only plays sophomores" dynamic seems to be having a dramatic effect, doesn't it?
The Boogie Men (14-0 this season - and 25-5 last season) are climbing the ladder to global rank 142 I think.
As of right now - they would be the #30 seasoned team (of 55) (based on global ladder rank - so basically a 'middle of the pack' seasoned team)
If they continue on at this pace (which I imagine is likely) - how high will they get at sophomore year end....considering they will continue to be protected through out the season?
I have no idea - but it is interesting. Guesses?
(no sour grapes or complaining here - it was my opinion that sophomores didn't need protection from seasoned - but I didn't think it was a big deal)

GG Virgins. You held my offense down well.
GG Alaska. You guys took a risk leaving the middle open to cover the Sweeps, but it paid off as you forced enough turnovers and stopped enough drives to keep my offense scoreless.

Yeah I sold out to stop the outside runs. After watching the first few plays I got worried, but fortunately you didn't spam the inside runs and ran enough times outside that I was able to get some tackles for loss and stall drives.

Might just mean the top sophomore teams are going to be in for a hurting at the start of next seasons ladder games. I don't really think soph teams need protection from seasoned either, but it makes soph ladder more interesting when its soph only. By the middle of next season we will probably be close to where we truly belong so it should all even out.

In my experience - seasoned vs journeyman isn't nearly as bad as soph vs seasoned -- I guess likely due to higher point costs of skills...
A good example: late in soph season I lost to Pain Nation 3-21 - they scrimmed me early in seasoned and I won 48-0
(I know - lots of variables and that doesn't completely prove anything - but my offense would have basically been the same)
I think you'll hold on to most of the ground you make this season.
One question is: if you continue stretching your ladder lead -- your opponents ladder rank will clearly fall way behind you -- and maybe you'll get fewer gains as you go (and if you lose to one it will hurt worse)

Yea for sure. We've probably only gained 9 or 10 spots on the overall ladder this whole season. If we lose I'd imagine it'll be quite a large drop too.

not as much as you think. My team started the season in the low-mid 40s, has gone 8-7, and still sits more or less in the low-mid 40's area.

Yup.

We'll need to give it a few seasons, but I think of it more this way:
The good seasoned teams have continued to win most of their ladder games, and, I'd guess, have significantly raised their rating. This really means that their rating at the start of the season was inaccurate and it was way too low. Thus, it's rather a good thing that perhaps next season, the best seasoned teams will have higher ratings to start the season off - they're more likely to be a correct rating, and getting the rating correct as fast as possible helps make the ladder games more interesting.

The boogie men actually beat a journeyman team in our rookie season. We will be fine.
