Why does every passing team seem to throw to the TE 3x as much as everybody else?

Are their routes just godlike?

They're the first or second progression on a bunch of my favorite plays. Other than that, it's pretty common for them to be single covered by a SS, which means they get 7 yards downfield and still haven't reached the safety when the QB hot potatoes it to them due to a blitz. CBs are usually running right with the WR at the same point or are at least much closer in coverage.

In any event, whether it's a LB or SS trying to cover the TE, they're worse at coverage than most CBs, but that TE is usually just as good of a receiver as the WRs getting covered by the better CBs. So it boils down to the TE ending up getting a more favorable read by the QB more often.

Because your OC is spamming the TE plays? My TE's combine for 5th in targets among my receivers.

I thought I saw it on more teams than just LL but maybe I am just looking at less games than I think I am (not incredibly unlikely).

A lot of teams spam corner threat a lot so that's a big te play. Also that other te/wr3 play from single back as well. So that's probably what you are seeing.

Corner Threat is turrrrible now.

TE Post, the other play, is still solid though. 3 good deeper routes, and the two underneath routes aren't total abortions.

It's too easy to force Corner Threat to dump off to the garbage underneath routes now (and there's 3 of them).

Meh it's not terrible and people still run it allll the time. I know I run scouts on everyone.

It's just way easier to get the ball to a TE. My team has 1 WR who catches more than 50% of the balls thrown his way. Our receiving TE catches over 60% of balls thrown his way.
