Do you have to put them on a team so they earn levels? Or can you just create them, let them sit there and then retire them and get full flexies back?

They have to make it to the next tier (ex. rookie to sophomore) for them to count towards S* points. So, yes, they have to be on a team the whole season.

They have to hit the next tier so no they can't just sit there as 0xp (or experienced) dots

I don't know if you can "catch up" them and still get the points, but I don't think you can

The easiest way is to just build as many dots as you need points, put them in the d-league, and forget about them until the end of the season. Afaik there is no free SS exploit (or we would be using it already). At least that's how I did it.

Only one exploit/loophole to really remember is that if you retire your S* before the season ends, you can rebuild the S* points immediately.

For example, I retired my S* WR after the first round of playoffs and I built a new S* WR this offseason.

If I had waited until the season ended and the new S* points had already been assigned, I would not have accumulated any and would have had to wait an entire season to build my bot.

Thank you! I was curious about this and wondered if it would work. Thought so but glad to see someone confirm it does

I'm pretty sure that is just a bug if you mean it as described (the points are refunded in that window).

I am positive though you just mean you got the points you would have gained anyway from your other players - which at least for most people isn't likely to be usable in a single season.

On that note, for those thinking about making a superstar and then deciding they don't like the build you have until the first scrimmage or league/ladder game to retire and get your points refunded. Pickup games don't count for clarification.

Yeah, like I had 20 players or more in the 100 flex category. If I waited until the season ended to retire, I would have had 0 points in the 100 flex S* category (because you can't earn points when you have a S* active). Because I retired before the season ended, I was able to earn the points and get the S* back ASAP instead of having to wait a season.
