For each position:

What is the max number of players you can place on the depth chart and not harm someones playing time? I know stamina plays a big part and playing on ST does as well. In a perfect world what would you do at each position to get the most plays for each player at that each position?

Defensively, you assign them alternating starting roles in different formations that you use somewhat equally.

There's no way, even on "frequently", to get the play counts to matchup up fairly close using just the default DC. Unless your starter has really low conditioning maybe.

bad idea for equal splits unless you're playing quarter defense the entire game

this. I'd put all 5 CBs in each spot, shifting the order around. If you're wanting to try and split looks evenly.
