Sorry if this has been posted already. What happens if your team signs a player who's a higher level than the rest of the team?

For example a current sophomore team will mostly have level 6 players at this point. What happens if you sign a level 9 player? What are the consequences for this season and next?

You cant sign a player of a higher level becausue your league has a level cap.

What if the player is also level 6 but closer to level 7 than everyone else? Does that cause any issues?

You can't offer a contract to a player who has more XP than the players currently in your league. It's set up to make sure this doesn't happen, since otherwise you'd have a player a full tier ahead on championship day.
