Screenshot of the final build plan: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B9jtRPXrYo_odXd6OEJjVG5hVUk/edit?usp=sharing

I'm quite new to GLB2, but am working hard to get up to speed. My biggest question is whether slow build makes sense for this build, or whether I should ditch it for workhorse (to keep conditioning over 50) to allow me to flesh out my physicals more. For SA's I was going to go Monster Hit, and First Step.

Dropping slow build for workhorse hurt my tackling tech, power tackling, and pursuit, but allowed me to invest more in sprinting, quickness, balance and consistency: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B9jtRPXrYo_oTDBHcTQ4MHhNaW8/edit?usp=sharing Which looks better?

Are there any crippling holes in the final build plan?

Just my opinion: the end builds should have Blitz, Man and Zone awareness's (is that a word?) close to max, if not max'd.

The point total looks low, are you using the right total to start?

209K total SP used. Maxing those 3 awareness skills would take about 15-20 points out of quick/sprint/footwork, or about 30-40 points out of tackling tech/power tackling/pursuit.

Bad advice.

Here's the number 1 journeyman SS from last season.
Was #2 Seasoned SS as well.

Will end with pursuit maxed out and deflecting to 40. Also looking to hit 55-60 quickness with the rest in strip technique. Last cap booster will take power tackling to 84.

The main points for the build. 40-60 man and zone awareness, just because it's cheap doesn't mean you should max it out. No need to get blitz awareness much higher than 30. Covg. tech. and deflecting are important to keep you near your assignments, but again, aim for 40-50 of each. Max power tackling and pursuit, you want 80+ and 70+ of each respectively. Tack. Tech and grip need to be 50 but not much more as they don't help with FF's or KL's. You want enough hold groudn and break run block to be able to take on receivers quickly, but you aren't trying to beat blocking FB's or TE's. Footwork, quickness, and conditioning need to be at least 50 so you can backpedal and keep relatively near coverage assignments, conditioning just stops you from slowing down as fast, most every player should have over 50 conditioning. Snap reaction is not important as you are far off the line, 25 is enough and looking back at it, 6 awareness may be too much. Could probably get away with 4 awareness, drop stamina to 2 and take workhorse and dreadnought to still hit the 50 cap.

60 speed is probably enough but It'd be nice to see 65 or 70 speed on a HH SS.

MileHighShoes, that SS is pretty mediocre outside of generating fumbles (which is what beefs him up in GLB's rankings). I would NOT use that dot as a case study for what atts to invest in.

And who would you use?

Dump the 30 intimidation. It's a medium cost skill and 30 is insignificant regardless.

Defensive Consistency is way too low. Should be maxed and probably needs a cap booster or two.

Coverage Tech is a real liability. I'd drop Zone Awareness, go Man only and move points into Cov Tech. If you want to be a Hard Hitting SS, then you need to be near the line of scrimmage and not sitting back playing zone.

Tackling Grip is too low. Strip is better on lineman and LBs. I'd lower it.

Don't need Pass Rush Tech. And as said above, don't need Snap. Go higher in Intimidation or don't bother.

He was asking how to make a good Hard Hitting SS.
Not how to make a good all around SS, ps that dot I posted is now the #3 Defensive player of the season, and the #1 SS 2 seasons in a row and #2 ss before that. Please point me towards a better dot at doing what OP asked, 20 FF's this season so far.
