At the end of last season confetti rained down from the roof of Creek Valley Stadium, proclaiming the Beast as the greatest team in Iron league and ruining the championship hopes of the North Korean Slim Kims. After the game both teams began to re-tool in the off season and their rosters became significantly better on both sides of the ball. Week one finally comes and goes with the Slim Kims getting their first victory in a blowout against the Miami Sharks. The Beast on the other hand took a tough 3 point loss to another championship contender, the New Jersey Surge. And now, as early as week 2, the Slim Kims and the Beast will face each other again in a game that will help determine who can get to the playoffs at the end of the season.
This is a statement game for the Slim Kims. They want to go out onto that field and prove they have what it takes to win a title. The Beast on the other hand not only need to avoid starting the season 0-2, they need to defend their title and prove they still are the best team in the league. In 3 games between the two teams the Creek Valley Beast have a 2-1 record and two of the three games have been decided by a field goal or less. This is a game sure to be an instant classic.
