When i first started with my free player, the first 2 sp boosts were free then you got another 2 each season. Why when i bought some flex and created a new player does my first 2 skill boosts cost flex? Should they not also be free and another 2 unlock each season?

Only your free player gets free boosts, if you use flex to create additional players you'll need to pay for the boosts.
