They averaged around 4.3 ypc against middle overload. If you take away that run where the RB broke a tackle that would've resulted in around a 3 yard loss it's more about 3.5 ypc.

You can't take away a broken tackle since it is part of the game. And 4.3 ypc is pretty damn decent against a supposedly OPd play.

An OPd play that should not by any means be overpowered though. They're bringing everyone in the middle and blitzing. If you run to the outside it should be at least 30 yards a pop.

That's why I said supposed. I tend to agree with you, but if the CB beats the WR and you have LBers with great speed, we see it stopped. Unrealistic, but unrealistic happens in this game often.

It isn't middle blitzing though. That is the whole thing.

This.

If you watch the play, it actually works out more of a good run blitz and the reason it's so strong is that the o-line is facing up to 9 guys in the box, as seen here:

http://glb2.warriorgeneral.com/game/replay/58791/1577787

That's a guarantee that two guys are going to be free to make the play on anything inside, and odds, if it's the outside rushers who get left alone, they're pretty much free to chase down most outside plays as well, but at that point, they need to make both their Blitz Awareness rolls, and have enough speed to get back outside to run down the HB.

Where MO falls apart is if you try to run it against a pass play witha high awareness QB who has fast WR's to throw at. The QB just dumps it immediately and the WR's will already have your now completely alone CB's caught in the backpedal turn.

Then bad things happen.

I'd consider it inside blitzing because after the pitch it's 5 guys that shouldn't/don't have a chance at making a play on the ball carrier.

It's the immediate turn and sprint straight toward the endzone pylon that LBs and safeties do that kills the run game, since when do you see LBs and safeties as their first instinct turn and run backwards/straight for the corner of the endzone.

This gives them better angles/100% chance that they'll actually meet the ball carrier during the play. Now that open field blocking is extremely hard to engage in, then closing speed fires and boom those same safeties/LBs are in the backfield gobbling up the ball carrier for -2/-3.

Well, that's the new psychic abilities Corndog gave them. They don't have to read the ball carrier at all anymore. They already know at the snap where he's going, and the ball carrier isn't allowed to completely cut back inside on them, so poor ball carrier is ded

How about passing? Awesome, you get the right call on 3 dives, but give up a 80 yard TD pass...
