Nice, hadnt come across your rookie teams roster yet but it is definitely intriguing. I will be watching you guys for sure. Everyone is so obsessed with offense in this game, I really wanted to be a defense first team but due to what S*'s I could get ended up being more balanced in that sense. I would be lying if I said I wasn't slightly jealous of your DC.

If you know a team is going to pass, putting as many CBs on the field as possible is your best bet. Man Base is a great play for defending spread sets if you built your FS/SS well. All of my CBs besides 1 are under 50% receptions allowed, with 1 being in the low 30s. I think our back 7 is averaging about 1 INT a game as well so that helps. IMO, one of the worst things you can do is try to pressure a QB if that means you are leaving your CBs 1 on 1. I don't think it is possible to build a CB fast enough to keep up with these WRs and still have everything else he needs.

EDIT: It also helps to have your offense try and control the clock. Just like in the NFL where teams try to keep Peyton Manning off the field. With the last MEM/Sunday Funday game I thought we had a perfect gameplan, but still came up short.


This is less true for my team than for yours - I pretty much have to blitz and play man every play. I have cpu CBs (and almost everyone else) and if I can't disrupt the QB within 2 or 3 seconds, coverage will break down and he'll hit somebody.

For a rookie-soph team with frequently overmatched players, man CB, zone FS/SS and aggressive blitzing has worked best.

blitzing mindlessly doesn't work past that.

Even MO spams are a godsend by the time teams hit journey.

Not quite "mindlessly", but yeah. Until someone wants to build and boost 35 dots for me I can't compete past two seasons.
