The superstar ability talks about that it is earned but doesn't discuss anywhere exactly how it is earned I see rookie players with this ability already but I don't know what triggers it. thanks for your help

Every time a player at one of the three flex tiers completes a season, you get one point towards a superstar of that tier.
For example, if you buy an LB (before day 24) and have him finish the season, at the end of the season, you'll have earned one point towards a superstar QB/HB/LB.
