My biggest concern with this isn't the play itself. It's the precedent. It's pretty much the same thing that happens in all kinds of online games.

A very vocal minority bitches about something with lots of claims of "OP" without bothering to do any kind of look at whether or not it actually does produce overwhelmingly successful results. It beat them. It can't be their fault. Therefore, "OP".

So you nerf QB Rollout. Whatever. I run HB sweeps. So now HB sweeps are OP because that's how I'm beating teams.

Wanna bet on the likelihood of hearing cries of "OP"?

Games that do down this path tend to get really simple-minded really quick. Such games bore me, and I'm kinda likin' GBL2 and don't want it to get boring.

I don't want it nerfed, I want the tools to deal with it as a DC.

Yay! The only DC I'd consider as good as me (*smirk*) is on board with reality.

One thing that might make an immediate improvement is cutting LB Contain from the default playbooks. It's a horrible play. In Yorick's game today, I'm pretty sure every time it came up versus a HB or QB sweep, it led to a TD since it's not contain. It's kittenpile the entire defense in the middle of the field.

At least the other goal line D's have a chance at getting to the QB before the play gets going. (hate watching QB get sacked on HB sweeps *cry*)

I agree with this. We need to at least create better defaults for goal line defense. It's too easy to exploit teams that have goal line defense against goal line offense. Teams put up absurd points and stats that they wouldn't ever be able to put up if they tried anything else. These lopsided stats put these exploiters ahead in team and individual stats which kind of sucks for all the other players not part of a goal line offense team.

Not everyone reads the forums. I don't use goal line myself, but I'm not talking about myself. These gimmick offenses are ruining the experience for all agents who aren't part of the gimmick. Stats are a huge part of this game, and right now the best way to get awards is to run GL sweep. It just doesn't make any sense.
