Hello, I am quite new to this, just a few weeks with one player.
I really enjoy it. So I bought flex points and paid for a team next season.
I'd like to be a good team owner and it seems like a really fun game to play.
Though I am not sure everything I can do as a team owner. My friend will be gm.
What I am guessing is I can make a playbook and sign players and do the depth chart.
Do I watch the game live and make the plays then? or do I do it before hand and it just sims?

It is my goal to be a good team owner and keep playing this game.
So, I'd greatly appreciate some basic tips on what I can do to build a good team.

To know how to build a great team you need to know how to make good players and how to effectively use them. Have an idea on what type of team you want to be. Passing? Then make your o line focused on pass blocking and have good depth at WR. Running team? Run blocking O line with either elusive rb's or power, or a combo of both.

Same goes for defense...

Half the game is gameplanning so get a good group of coordinators to learn from and show you the ropes. Be active on your team forum and lay out a detailed plan when you are making your recruiting pitch to prospective agents. Tell them how you want their players to fit in your offensive and defensive schemes.

If i were you i would start a private forum and then start getting agents together so that you can have your team quickly built in the offseason and you arent left wandering the marketplace for scraps.

And another thing: the game sims with a random number generator (RNG), it is not live. However, you can watch the replays once the sim finishes. PM me if you have any questions and ill do my best to help you out

Thanks a lot hoshdude!

I have 2 questions though..
Why should I get a coordinator if I could do the job?
or Why would someone want to be on my team if they are better than me and can do their own team?

I think he is just saying you'll be ahead of the game and learn much faster if you're learning from someone rather than learning by trial and error (as a starting point).

some people don't like to run a whole team; do recruiting, and all that jazz - but there are plenty of people who like to game plan / set up an O/D playbook and tactics / build players etc.

It is incredibly time consuming and frustrating when youre just starting out. If you are gameplanning right, it should take you a bit of time. If i were you i would learn the trade in one area, and then get a coordinator for either offense/defense and also a ST coordinator. Its too much for most people to do all 3. And the reason they would coordinate for your team rather than their own is because A). It cost money
B.). A whole lot less responsibility

Ya. Lost Lounge lost our first three games pretty badly because we had no clue what we were doing. But Sieg and I learn fast, and things are going better now.

If you can avoid that by learning from other people, more's the better. Just make sure the people you learn from actually know what they're doing. Check their coaching records before hiring them.
