There is no way that this does not happen.

The best any team in alpha can do is 10-4. The worst Denver/Yorick can do is 11-3. Much more likely for Denver/Yorick is one at 13-1 the other at 12-2. Gamma...lol.

So the 1st round of the playoffs will be
Denver v Yorick
Syndicate/Meth/Shell City v Fairfax/Louisville/Blue Streak

The upcoming league game between Denver and Yorick is virtually irrelevant. And because of the playoff structure, the team with the second best record in Lincoln cannot be the #2 seed, the best any team from gamma can be is 5-8-1, and whichever of the three 8-4 teams in alpha ends up winning is extremely likely to be in the championship game.

There should be a ladder playoff tournament like during the off season, no sp rewarded, just games.

Top two get byes

Then regular playoff format

Winner gets a trophy for their collection

The #1 Ladder team more than earns their ranking over the course of the season. Season is long enough as it is.
