His build: http://glb2.warriorgeneral.com/game/player/24960

Example plays:
http://glb2.warriorgeneral.com/game/replay/35753/2534435
http://glb2.warriorgeneral.com/game/replay/35753/2534463
http://glb2.warriorgeneral.com/game/replay/35753/2534880

You can see that even at the end of plays he has 60-70 morale/stamina, so that's not the problem. He's super ineffective, and I can't for the life of me see why he should be. Granted his physical skills aren't amazing, but with 100 PRP (and 45 PRT) he should be winning at least a few of his interactions... and he's not. Even with such high intimidation, he is getting less than 1 hurry/game.

I'm going to get intimidation to 85, then push footwork and see what happens, but overall I'm pretty skeptical about pass rush power at this point.

He's probably just not quick enough to get to the QB unless he gets a great jump and completely destroys the o lineman. And also lacks the Footwork to not get immediately reengaged after he breaks a block.

It's an quickness and footwork issue as himjack said. If you watch him, he does win his interactions. In everyone you linked, he won at some point. He just couldn't make it count. He just gets reengaged quickly there after a win and that's the problem.. Reverse pancakes are tough to get and relatively rare so you need those physical skills to take advantage when he does win.

Ya I am not sure what you were really expecting there. One attribute does not equate a build. All his physical skills are bad. This is why pushing your main attribute to 100 isn't realistically a good option in this game.

im sort of in the same boat with my NT who is supposed to be a monster run stopper. Though instead of moving onto his physical skills I opted to get his pass rush skills up first. Probs a bad choice.

Bad results from a poorly built joe.

Sprinting is a real thing for pass rushers regardless of how you get past the block

My DE gets about 55-60 hurries/sacks a season and the breakdown is probably

40% Spin Cycle
40% Sprinting after a technique block win
20% End around footwork/quickness that the lineman just never catches up to

Thank you for sharing this beast. You are right, the threat radius from intimidation isn't crazy huge at 75-100 guaranteed rolls when TV activates, but I thought this play showed a larger-than-most.

If you can crank his physical stuff and more tech he'll be getting this close a few times a game and causing hurries for sure.

Also keep in mind, power is huge for opening up blitzing lanes, but your team isn't taking advantage. Your dude tosses people aside right off the snap every play.

That's true. I didn't think about that.

I'd talk with your DC about more Blitz Packages. Until you get your Physical Stats up, you may want to focus on Run Blitz/Pass Blitz situations (like Goal Line and Nickel/Dime stuff), so you open that Lane for the Run/Pass Rush LB to destroy the play.

Fact is, you make a great piece to a Defense... you just are not THE Defense you thought your player would be.

Good news is two. The right DC can scheme to use to be effective FOR THE TEAM, and you can 'correct' or 'balance' the Build moving forward so YOU start making more Individual Impact.

Right now you are Teddy Washington, which isn't bad if the Defense uses it properly. Balance out the build and you can be more Haloti Ngata or Vince Wolfork.

Unless you use spin cycle footwork is almost useless. Put it elsewhere.
