This is intended to be a starting point for discussion. I want to hear what GM's, coaches & prospective players think. I'm open to concepts (such as scat backs versus power runners) but I want a consensus if we're going to try something like a run-dominant scheme. And I need to hear some opinions about Slow-Builts.
Philosophy - Unless Otherwise Directed, I run a Balanced Attack
Proposed Roster
1) PLayers in each grouping should have similar builds so we can substitute freely. Consistency is important.
2) This is a balanced approach, which means TE's, FB's & interior OL's are dual-purpose run/pass
3) The goal is to build a versatile offense that can execute a wide variety of formations/plays while minimizing turnovers and sacks.

2 QB - Quick Read - needs Max of 65+ in Pass Accuracy/Awareness/Power/Leadership, 50 in Conditioning/Toughness
Make quick, accurate throws, minimize fumbles
- - - - - - - - - -
2 HB - Rusher Trait w/Average Confidence & Stamina, Above Average in Everything Else
HB's are Runners 1st, receivers a distant 2nd
After the midpoint of Sophomore year RB's should have Receiving Hands up to 25.
Carrying Grip is important (max > 50)

2 FB - Lead Blocker Trait - Above Average Speed, Strength, Agility , Average in Everything Else
FB's are Run Blockers 1st, Runners 2nd, Receivers 3rd
After the midpoint of Sophomore year FB's should have their Receiving Hands up to 25.
Carrying Grip is important (max >50)

2 TE - Receiving Specialist Trait - Above Average Strength, Speed, Agility & Awareness, Average elsewhere
TE's are Receivers 1st, Outside Run Blockers 2nd
TE's will have to improve Run Block Tech, Awareness & Lead Awareness early in their Rookie year
TE's block - they need to have good Conditioning & Toughness
- - - - - - - - - -
5 WR - 3 Speedsters w/Hands, 2 Slot Receivers if the KR is a WR, should be a Speedster w/Hands
I'm looking for receivers with good hands and balanced receiving skills. I run a lot of streaks/posts with WR1/WR2 on Short & Medium passes. Speedsters will focus on WR1/WR2/WR4, Slots on WR3/WR5
- - - - - - - - - -
3 OT - Excellent Pass Blockers, Average outside run blockers
- - - - - - - - - -
3 OG, 2 C - Dual Purpose - Very Good Pass Blockers, Very Good Inside Run Blockers
- - - - - - - - - -
Blocking takes a toll on Energy & Morale, OL's & TE's must be well-conditioned & tough.
OL's need to get their blocking Tech, Awareness & Footwork to decent levels before spending points on Intimidation. RB's & KR's must put points into Carrying Grip. QB's must put points into dropback grip and Leadership.

Playbook/Tactics: A lot of what we do depends on our opposition & how good our Defense is.
The emphasis in the passing game is to be able to make throws in 40 clock ticks or less. Most pass plays will feature 2+ receivers running patterns down the field, creating a 10+ yd potential in all of our plays.
The running game will trend towards 2-to-1 Inside-to-Outside Running. The outside running game is all about the blocks, so our FB's/TE's/OT's need to be able to identify their man and hold a block long enough for the RB to get by. It's mostly about being in the right place at the right time.
FB's will likely get around 10-15% of the carries, most of them on inside runs. But I would like to be able to include the FB Strong Across in the PB, so I'm interested in a FB who's fast enough to run to the outside.
I'm open to suggestion on the scheme. If you don't want a running FB, feel free to say so. If you have opinons about what the OT's should look like, speak up. If you think you'd like to have RB's who can catch, say so. We need to hash this out now, before we try to create/recruit players.
