Thongas Kahn, left linebacker is completely stunned just at the start of his decision to turn and cover long. Perfectly disabled.

not really... the LOLB wasn't really on anyone before the pump fake, and the SS was in zone on the HB, not on the WR2... so noone really got faked out

The switch in coverage was masked by the pump fake, that's why I spelled it out for you. Also because the pump was delivered on the switch of coverage, the LB had no speed built up for the new direction, that's why it was perfect.

The line backer's decision on coverage change starts at 46, as he drifts backwards for 1 frame.

Pump faked at 47, and stunned through 49.

Frame 50 LB resumes ability to cover and begins turn up field to cover the WR. Ball still not thrown at this point.

Morale of the story, is if your QB for zome reason has PF and you are playing a zone coverage team, send guys through the middle. LB's usually have bad zone awareness and will get caught.

Cover 2 nickel is a zone defense. The LB didn't make his read right away when the receiver crossed into his zone (happens all the time in zones). It had nothing to do with the pump fake.

The only one who bit on the fake was CB1. Heck, the sim even points this out to you in ticks 48-51.5.

Actually at SS picks up the WR for a second but then WR steps into the LB's zone at frame 36 and the SS changes his mind to help on the outside. You can notice this by his sudden twitch. The twitch is the shift in coverage to the LB, but LB doesn't do shit because he's faked as soon as the assignment passes to him.

Only reason you don't see the fake animation on the LB is because he is pretty much in a stopped position. Luckily with the fake, he remains frozen.

Or do 3 receivers just get to run through 7 defenders freely? /sarcasm off

You really need to watch a lot more replays of zone defenses.

There is a reason why I'm pretty sure that my rookie team is the only truly active team trying to run a 100% zone scheme.

It was so good that the sim didn't even realize it was the cause.
