Also, how would I even "change" my D tactics as some people suggest ?

In this case, "change your D tactics" includes changing your D playbook, and putting non-goal line defense formation plays in your "Goal Line D" section of your playbook. You can drop in whatever plays you want; 4-3, 5-2, they don't have to be goal line formation.

As it is right now I have no idea how you can "gameplan" against that beyond clicking 1 of 5 buttons on the generic gameplan. Am I missing something ? As an owner I cannot appoint myself as DC either so if I was DC would I see a different menu ?

As the owner of a team, you don't have to appoint yourself anything. You have all the powers that any of your GM's or coaches would have.

So let's get you started.

1. Click Home so you're on your main page.
2. Scroll to the very bottom where you'll see My Strategies section.
-There are tabs for creating offense and defensive playbooks and tactics
-Offensive playbooks set which plays your offense will run based on the game situation and your percentage choices in an offensive tactics sheet
-Defensive playbooks set which plays your defense will run based on game situation, # of WR's the offense sends out, and your percentages in a defensive tactics sheet
3. Create a playbook by clicking on the Clone Playbook button with whatever preset you want. This will create something like "Balanced Copy"
4. Click on your new playbook to edit it
5. On the left side of your playbook are the plays you're going to use. On the right, are plays that you can stick in the book
6. Those yellow boxes with the '-' in them remove plays from your book and put them back in the available section. Goof around with this for a bit. The blue dots set priority of a particular play. More dots makes a play more likely to be called when the sim pulls a play from that section.
7. You can rename your playbook by clicking on the white bubble inside the blue bar that has the current playbook name in it.
8. Just goof around in here a bit to see what's available, then click Save if you made something you want, or just back to Home
9. Go back to the bottom and click the Offensive Tactics tab.
10. Click create new tactics.
11. Click the brand new tactics page you just made. This will open up a page full of boxes. Those boxes correspond to the percentage chance that a particular type of play will get call in that particular situation. For example, if you put 20 in the Pass V. Short box, 20% of the time in that situation, the sim will go to the very short passes page of your playbook and pick a play from that page.
12. Goof around here clicking and looking around just to see what's what.
13. If you made something you like, save it. If not, you can always come back later or make a bunch of new ones.
14. Go back to Home and then click your team name. If you look at the schedule, you'll see a yellow box with arrows that says Edit Game Tactics. Click this.
15. This open up dropdown boxes where you can pick which playbooks, tactics sheets, and depth charts you'll use by default or for specific games. As the owner, you can set all of them. Coaches can only set those within their assigned jobs.
16. When your done with this, go the Suggestion Section of the forums and politely ask Bort or Corndog to freakin' write a new players manual that is linked in very obvious fashion on the home page so that new players aren't as lost as you.

Oh yea...I seriously never noticed the tactics thing on the bottom. Ever.

I spend all my time building good players so I never really noticed it. So my team is decent even without advanced gameplanning and I even beat undefeated teams sometimes if my basic gameplan matches up...so the only time I lose is usually on Goalline sweeps and thats it.

Now that I at least know how to gameplan its my own fault if I dont fix it. Didnt even know about that.

Thanks Xav.

i'd agree but in real life NFL coaches do retarded things all the time like goal line formation on your own 20 on 2nd and 8 because...they just do. It's called a gimmick. But it's 9/10 unrealistic. Again, it's a game and lay on enough rules and you've got a simulator, not a video game. I say exploit whatever you can until enough people complain and get it nerfed.

Instead of taking the time to Nerf something, it makes more sense to give DC's the tools to handle the goal line. Treat it like a real formation instead of gimmick run only bs. Give DC's the tools to handle them.
