So I'm new here but played glb a few years back. I want to get onto a team with some knowledgeable people to learn from.

I have 3 players currently but I am prepared to make more/others as needed. I would like to get them onto a team for season 4 as they are on Cpu teams at present. Anyway wanted to say hi and introduce myself for now. If there are any teams with room for a rookie or two please reply here.

Thank you

You're best bet is to just play them and learn how stuff works, don't bother boosting.

Retire them at after you get your s* point and remake with them being planned for a team.

Ah right that seems like some sage advice. Thank you. I did boost em early on tbh as I wanted to get ahead but I see your meaning. In the long term I guess it is better for me as the agent/coach to learn how to build them to get to a team.

Ok cheers.

Good luck with that bro. I'm in the same boat. Looked at the marketplace and it's flooded with players that can't get signed on with a team.

I'm a GM and I found the marketplace to be kind of a joke. I had felt like I had to go into people's profiles to see if they are active by seeing if they are playing pickup games. Until the marketplace has some sort of time limit it's just flooded with inactive players.

I found it easier to just ask agents on my team or from forums to create players to fill rolls needed. This is kind of sad and it takes away from the casual player who just want to experience the game.

To get on a my first human team, I sought a team out myself. I spend an hour or more looking at active team's rosters and seeing which roster my player would be an upgrade for. And then I sent PM's to make pleas of why my guys should get the contract instead.

GLB2 has been a little too much work in my opinion just trying to find a home. Luckily I found a great one, but I feel for the casual agent who just wants to see his joe play somewhere.

Getting involved with a team is as simple as going to the "teams looking for players" forum around playoff time or a little before, perusing the upcoming rookie teams that are forming, and signing up.

If you're building a team, the same forum works, you just get started a week or two prior to the playoffs. It matters how you present the team though. A post saying "Hey, getting a team, who wants to join?" isn't going to get you a team capable of doing anything or probably even help you fill it up. You need to spell out the plan and list a detailed roster. What type of offense and defense you'll run, and what sorts of players you're looking for at each position. Good agents want to sign players to teams that have a plan. Especially if that plan aligns with some player types they're interested in creating to try out.

As mentioned elsewhere, relying completely on the marketplace ad to get offers for your player is very hit or miss. There's so many inactive listings in there, and no useful tools for recruiters to pare it down to only active listings. Most competitive teams don't bother with it and focus on want ads in the team/player forums, or on referrals through thier official or unofficial network of agents.

I just want to find a team that I can learn from is all. I will go to the market place and make a thread at playoff time then. There must be a few expansion team owners looking for new players I am sure.

fwiw, it's better to post interest in the Teams looking for Players forum on team threads advertising openings later this season than it is to post your own want ad in players looking for teams.
