Sarcastic answer: Probably saw you don't boost him and you have a 35% FG success rate and thought he could get a better chance with someone else kicking the ball. He saw you are a power kicker for kickoffs and said you do that and only that.
Real answer: Looks like a coding issue or just a rare occurrence since you are the only one that I know of to have this issue.

I would check the obvious and look at all your special teams depth charts to make sure you have a kicker actually selected for Field Goal.

I just analyze team roster.
This team not have QB.
CPU use HB for passing game.
And use my kicker to set ball for kicker.
I wonder why CPU team not create QB?
Last game all HB make passing TD is really good.
