I'm considering reseting my team to rookie for next season and then population it with a significant number of new dots I create.. in GLB2-land when is the ideal time to create these dots to maximize their performance on my reset rookie team next season? If creation is to occur PRIOR to day 0/day 1... should I sign my players to CPU teams or play scrimms (if those are available during the offseason)?

I am aware of this from the FAQ...
I want to reset my team to the Rookie tier again next season. How do I do that? When will it get reset and what happens?
Once the playoff weeks start (on day 43), owner can mark their team for reset by using the checkbox that appears on team profile page. The team will be reset and moved to its new league on day 49, and the roster will be cleared.

Is there anything else I should know to accomplish my process smoothly.

You can create the players at any time, just make sure that the "experienced" option is not checked and that they don't sign with a team until next season. In order to qualify for rookie, the players on day 1 will need to have played 0 games (except for pick-up games).

Essentially, there is no gaming the system any more.

This.

There was an issue this season where some rookie teams signed guys with some extra XP, but I PMed Corndog about it and he made it quite clear that the loophole would be fixed, you need to have 0 XP to sign day 1, so there is no "best" day to create players. You can make your rookies now, you can make them day 1 before your first game, either way they'll be the same.

great thanks guys...

so 'age' in days is not a factor in GLB2 it looks like

is there a lifespan of a player somehow.. maximum games played (that's my assumption since you can do 'career boosts' to get more games played... but i'm not seeing where this is monitored/tracked

thanks for your time

I believe you get 150 games and can use the career boost for up to 90 more.

I don't see this tracked anywhere either. All I can tell you is its 6 games a level.

It's easier than you're thinking.

Your player gains XP for every game they are on a roster for. The same amount of XP, every game. If you play a full season, you will go up one tier - rookie to sophomore(1), soph to seasoned(2), seasoned to journeyman (3), journeyman to professional (4), professional to veteran (5th season).

When you hit Veteran, at the start of your 6th season, you are level 25, the max level. At this point, I shall quote the FAQ

What happens when I reach level 25? How long does my player play? What happens after that?
Once your player reaches level 25, he remains at level 25 for 1 additional season (30 games). You can add up to 3 additional seasons' worth of games (90 more) at level 25 by buying the appropriate boosts. After this "plateau" period ends, the player reaches the "Legend" tier and becomes eligible to only play in Legend Leagues. Legend leagues are CPU-run teams specifically for Legend players only.

So you play out that season, and then either need to buy your career boost (1 boost = 1 season), go to the Legend League, or retire.

There is no need to track, there is no need to scour the world for your games played. It's all about the tier.
