Getting them out quick this week. Got all 6 picks correct for week 7 which is a first!

The big games were the Wildcats ending Regina's season and Texas' win over the Stalkers putting the masons into a tie for the lead of Alpha. Texas are the hot team atm and may even pose a threat to Erkner late in the season. Or maybe the rest of us are shit and Erkner will put them in their place.

Week 8 quick picks

Fullerton Fury 21 All Voracious Wolverines 0
Montgomery Wildcats 3 Texas State Fightin Armadillos 14
New York Masons 17 Brisbane Bogans 28
Black Sea Night Stalkers 14 Regina Rebels 0
RFL Boys 0 Charlotte Panthers 35
Erkner Razorbacks 21 Faber Animals 20

1. Erkner Razorbacks (League 6-1, Ladder 33)

Don't let the scoreline against the Panthers fool you this game could've gone the other way very very easily. The razorbacks had less than 1/3 of the possession in this game and 14 of their points came from 50+ yd tds which better teams just won't let happen. Erkner look vulnerable at the moment and Faber could take advantage of that this week but I'm picking Erkner to do just enough to get it done.

2. Brisbane Bogans (League 6-1, Ladder 42)

Fullerton couldn't recover from two early fumbles from their QB which put them in a 24-0 hole at half time as Brisbane showed the league that they're back on top of their game. Brisbane are coming in to a very tough part of their schedule with 3 of their last 4 interdivisional games against the top teams in the league (Masons, Erkner and the Stalkers). They'll need to show that they can put up the same lofty offensive numbers against top teams as they can against those in the middle of the pack.

3. Texas State Fightin Armadillos (League 5-2, Ladder 104)

And Texas continue to grind out the wins. They also now move into an easier part of their interdivisional schedule with games against the Wildcats and the Wolves in the next 3 rounds. If they head in to the divisional games at 9-2 then they will pretty much have the wildcard birth wrapped up and even potentially stop Erkner from defending their Gamma title. Will hopefully be the fourth cougar team to move into the top 100 after their next ladder game.

4. Black Sea Night Stalkers (League 5-2, Ladder 110)

Another anemic offensive performance from the Stalker casts doubt over their ability to play with the big boys in Beta and Gamma. They don't have the easiest run into their divisional games either so it will be interesting to see if either them or the Masons actually pulls clear in Alpha. They are currently in contract negoatiations with O-coordinator Not Dick Bevell but he'll have his work cut out for him to steer the ship around before the Stalkers play Brisbane and Erkner.

5. Faber Animals (Dallas Annihilators) (League 5-2, Ladder 86)

Faber had their turn beating up on RFL this week so nothing much was learnt. They look to take advantage of a slightly vulnerable Erkner this week and tbh they probably almost need to win as they have a tough stretch coming up with Erkner, Masons and Texas all in the next 4 rounds. With the league being two tiered in team quality they'll need to keep winning to have a chance at a play off spot.

6. New York Masons (League 5-2, Ladder 113)

The Masons are rolling but just take a look at who've they've been beating: RFL, Panthers, Regina and the Wolves. Now look at their next four games: Brisbane, Texas, Faber and Erkner. I don't see them coming away from those four with more than 1 win. Thankfully for them the Stalkers are in a similar tough spot. This week is a huge game for them; have they really sorted out their offense? Is their defense still solid? Imo they get rolled in all four games coming up giving Fullerton a chance at the Alpha title.

7. Fullerton Fury (League 3-4, Ladder 140)

Their tough run of games is over and they now have 4 very easy wins to get them back in contention for Alpha division. If they can go into the final 3 rounds at 7-4 they have a chance otherwise it's over. Whatch for Fullerton to show that they're really not that far behind the Masons and Stalkers.

8. Charlotte Panthers (League 2-5, Ladder 152, 2 rookie team ahead of them)

Great showing against Erkner will be encouring for wine but he'll be looking for a win over one of the top teams before the season is out. There are 3 real chances (Stalkers, Brisbane, Faber) with another chance (Fullerton) to at least show that the Panthers are a solid mid tier team. Easy win for them this week against RFL.

9. Montgomery Wildcats (League 2-5, Ladder 163, 8 rookie teams ahead of them)

Nice win over Regina but the Wildcats should be focusing firmly on season 3 at the moment. Won't win again until they play the RFL boys in round 10.

10. Regina Rebels (League 2-5, Ladder 160, 6 rookie team ahead of them)

And another loss for Regina; these guys just can not score points on offense. Although they have gotten some of the CPUs off their team they have only scored over 7 points 3 times this season and the last time that occured was round 3 against RFL. No idea what happened to these guys in the off season but hopefully the reverse can happen this time around!

11. All Voracious Wolverines (League 0-7, Ladder 202, 34 rookie teams ahead of them)

Nothing to say apart from that the week 9 match up against RFL still will decide the worst team in the league title.

12. RFL Boys (League 1-6, Ladder 222, 48 rookie teams ahead of them)

Predicting a rookie ladder match up for RFL, which they will lose.

Thx Erkner, Brisbane number 1 again.

Man a lot of the top teams struggled today! Texas v Wildcats, Stalkers v Regina. And the Wolves finally got a win!
