Is it even possible to make a "shut down corner" at this stage of the game?

Been watching a LOT of games lately - and coverage just seems so random (I know this has been discussed a lot). So many times a WR is absolutely blanketed by 2 defenders and makes the catch. Other times - drops are absolutely rampant.

The CB on my team who has the lowest "targets to receptions allowed" has 20 targets / 8 receptions - 40%
my Team (92)from team leaders - I understand this sample size is really too small.
8/5 - 63%
20/8 - 40%
8/5 - 63%
19/9 - 47%
16/8 - 50%

Looking at #1 ladder team: Djibouti
They have 5 CB's with (looking at 'team leaders'):
15/8 - 63%
14/7 - 50%
12/5 - 42%
12/7 - 58%
7/1 - 14%

#2 Ladder team - Snails (stats from team leaders)
19/6 - 32%
22/5 - 23%
20/7 - 35%
6/4 - 67%
24/7 - 29%

#4 team - Ronin
9/4 - 44%
10/5 - 50%
10/6 - 60%
9/4 - 44%
5/3 - 60%

What is the current consensus? I'm guessing Defensive scheme/plays have more effect than build. Thoughts?

hit the qb before he throws... im starting to think blitzing the whole defense might be the best scheme

You got to look at targeted vs # of plays in a game. Remember a Qb won't often throw to a guy who's smothered by a cb. My cb is actually a decent example, I'm 6/4 which seems high but I avg just a few plays less than our 20+ targeted guys. Lot of factors to a good cb.
