My FB is at 62 lead block awareness - he seems to pass an awareness check (that's what it looks like to me, at least) and go for the DE...but the DE has literally run himself out of the play, leading to the LB unblocked and getting the TFL. Maybe there should be something in the lead block awareness to NOT go for low-threats like a DE going the wrong way.

The FB took on the unblocked player. The LB fought off a block by the TE to make the play. Not sure the bug? If the FB doesn't block the DE where does he go for an assignment?

Not sure the DE had ran himself out of the play, and the LB just punked the TE (but then, that's expected with 11 across the board in run blocking).

The issue may have been the TE not having enough awareness and getting an awful angle on his block.

Sticking with this idea - http://glb2.warriorgeneral.com/game/replay/24261/1457245

Again, a DE gets great penetration, but apparently fails his blitz awareness check, but because he's behind the LOS, the fullback turns around. The FB's job should be lead blocking, not turning around for backside pursuit. If the DE catches the HB, it should be a speed issue.

I'd say the problem really stems from the FB being on rails until the pitch is caught. Realistically, he probably should have picked up the DE between ticks 19-25, when it would have done some good, regardless of the DE's blitz awareness. Instead he sees it at tick 32, and it's obvious to you and me that the DE is out of the play. It's pretty difficult for the FB to be sure that the DE is out of the play, though, programmatically.

Yeah, I'm not sure how easy the fix is and what it should be - all I know is that, while watching my most favorite dot, I keep seeing him do these moves where he abandons his job for something that, to me, makes little sense. If he just kept going straight ahead on either play, fine, but when he's making these cuts, I'd prefer him to *not* have the vision to cut back like he's doing.

What sort of changes should we expect to see?

I know Corn said he was working on it, but it seems like FBs are scripted to head to a certain spot, and THEN look for a defender

Don't agree at all, the DE was already out of the play. I've noticed my OL turn around at times and go find defenders that are out of the play as well. My guys are not at 60+ Lead Block Awareness though so my issues could be build related.

They are given blocking assignments. Whether the LB (thought it was a DE on first glance) is out of the play or not that is the FB's assignment to contain. If he doesn't take the LB he has no assignment.

that's assuming they aren't given assignments.
