Carry Awareness is the ability to 'see defenders, find rushing lanes, and determine when to use active signature when carrying the ball.'

Similarly, Return Awareness is the ability to 'see defenders and find rushing lanes when playing kick or punt returner.'

In return situations, the returner might want to 'see defenders and find rushing lanes,' and therefore the need for Return Awareness is pretty obvious. But aren't you 'carrying the ball' as you 'play kick or punt returner?' So, does carry awareness play a role for the returner in return situation?

I'm under the impression that they're exclusive, and if anything, carry awr might help returning a tiny bit but return awr probably only works for returns and not running

Carry Awareness is necessary for many Signature Abilities that a returner might use. So, while Return Aware is used to "see the field", you still probably need a high Carry Awareness.

This.

Return Awareness exists, imo, to ensure a great returner also isn't likely to be a top player at any other position.

Thanks for the reply, guys.

What I found weird was, though, that if you have a CB returner, the only return-related ability the player has 'Return Awr,' (excluding physical abilities such as sprinting.)

On the other hand, HB and WR returners have 'Carrying Grip', 'Power Running', 'Elusive Running', and... 'Carrying Awareness.'

Well.. this might simply be telling us not to make a CB returner, but it could also mean that all that matters for returner is his physical abilities and Return Awr.

This. Use a HB, or a WR if you're cheap. No reason to use a corner to return kicks, other than "Because I want him to be named Deon Sanders".

While on the subject, what stats do the blockers need to find their block? Lead block awareness? I find my back 3 wedge blockers missing the 1st 2 guys and my returner gets hit every time.

Pretty sure cb's return awareness more has to do with interception return awareness than kr/pr. They didn't build cb's attributes with returning in mind.

Psh, who's Deon?

I think he meant Leon Sandcastle or even Jerry Ricecake.
