Can someone help me interpret the receiving grip description. Is this really the only thing it helps with: "The ability to hold on to the ball when being tackled while catching a pass"?

ie, does Receiving grip only prevent KLs? Does it help with the actual catch process?

I'm trying to get an idea of what kind of replay descriptions involve poor Receiving grip. Knocked loose? Dropped due to defenders nearby?

Any guesses would be appreciated.

Yeah, the way I looked at it (my interpretation only):

Skill - Receiving Hands - Catch the ball (no drops!)
Skill - Catch in Traffic - Catch the ball when defenders are present (no drops due to defender near!)
Skill - Receiving Grip - Catch the ball when being tackled (no knocked loose passes after the catch!)

Pretty sure grip is pretty much KL.

Yeah, here's the scenario that's bothering me:

Receiver drops a ball due to defender beginning to tackle him. Defender is making a lower-body tackle (not even touching receiver's arms or the ball).

That's not a KL, right??? but according to the description, Receiving Grip would help here.

^ Not sure it ever gets that deep.

But anyway that statement is illogical, a sharp hit to the knee will make anyone drop a ball.

that's a KL and you're reading too much into it

Ok cool. Guess I just didn't know the definition of a KL. Makes sense now. Thanks.

Knocked loose is when the replay clearly declares it was knocked loose. Watch the replay descriptions to get an idea of which skill you need more of.
