Trying to figure out where the issue is here. Our starting RDE (Bob Dolan) has only been playing 10~ snaps a game, while his back-up is playing 40+. I've made sure Bob is the starter for every formation in the depth chart on defense, I changed the use back-up frequency to infrequent, but still in the latest scrimmage he was only in for 13 plays.

Any ideas what the issue may be?

Conditioning/Toughness under 25.
Playing against a Power/Intimidation LT.
Being a power rusher himself.
Playing STs.
Offense firing team morale/energy draining SAs while he is in.

If all those are no then I'd say bugged.

Even if those are no I'd still say bug. My end logged more than 1 sack a game and had 30+ plays a game before I even touched conditioning.

Does the backup have really high conditioning? He may be getting subbed, and the backup has enough stamina to finish the drives with little or no subbing.

The starter has 27 cond, back up 30. And both are primarily tech based. In terms of stats they're pretty similar. Maybe I'll swap them for a game and see if it still happens.

One thing about infrequent subbing. If your starter is getting burned out on a special teams play, the backup will come in, and infrequent will keep him there for a long time before the starter comes back in. Infrequent works both ways from my experience. It doesn't mean infrequently use the backups, it means infrequently change the active player. So if the sub is in, and his 30 conditioning is causing him to not reach a tired enough state to trigger the infrequent substitution, then the starter will sit on the sideline no matter how fresh and ready to go.

If this is true then that is pretty important to know. I would think most people think it describes how often the backups are used or how low someone's energy goes to before they get subbed out, with the starter subbing back in once they get above that threshold.

Can we get clarification on these 3 dc descriptions please?

Been doing everything I can think of in terms of having him start/back-up, frequent/sometimes/infrequent, and he's still getting ~10 snaps a game. His stats are pretty similar to the other DE at his spot. I'm at a loss for what's going on.

Most of his snaps are on Special Teams, so -

I'd suggest setting up an ST Depth Chart, and see what happens.
