....while sending individual contracts gets you second season deals
I don't have the updated code on my devbox yet, and Bort is out getting food...says he will check it when he gets back.
While you're at it, get players an option to tick a box to auto-accept offers from current teams

Not sure I understand what the problem would be? If I want my player to stay with the current team, why not let me say, hey I will accept a contract extension?

Well, off the top of my head it creates the "sign on, create a player, sign to team, sign on 6 months later and spend skill points at veteran level" problem. Kind of want people to actually be active enough to sign their contracts. That, and clicking a couple buttons every other month just doesn't seem like that big of an issue.
Not that the idea doesn't have merit, but it just doesn't seem that important to hurry up and get done. I'll bring it up at the meeting on Wednesday I guess.

Ok, I can see that. That can easily be avoided though by having skill points removed after 1 month of not applying them or something like that.
Thanks for the answer. I will stop going off subject on this bug now.

Only problem is that there is a shorter window to resign... you could be active all season and then miss the three or five days to resign and find yourself either being replaced or dealing with chem issues.
You could make the button for auto-accept appear with five or ten days left in season and only make the auto-accept good for that season if you want to avoid the five season inactive issue.
...or you could just punish people for not spending their SPs by capping the max you can earn.
Example:
You can hold 300,000 SPs, but if you have more than 50,000 SPs unspent, you earn the XP from a game, but not the SP. Keeps people from trying to game the system and tries to ensure that people are trying from the beginning of the game to the end.
...
I was also thinking that you could add an incentive to adding SPs by making a bonus for remaining active up to Vet. Maybe make the last two boosts free if you maintained an active player (didn't allow your SPs to exceed 7,500 during your career). Doesn't cost a ton to do, and keeps the players engaged in the game.

Eek - no. I don't want to read the threads about someone going on a 2-week vacation and it costing them flex on all their characters. That will come across as a penalty for being inactive - hey you have to buy this - rather than a reward for being active. It's a tough line to walk.
You could probably create some sort of "daily click-me" system like you see in facebook/social games or whatever, but I'm not really sure what an appropriate reward for that would be. Those are harder to balance in an essentially pure pvp game like this is. Daily click achievements sound uninteresting as well.

If you've paid for the first 8 boosts and have remained active, you get two boosts free of charge. If people want to rage, it will be about people who turn GLB2 into GLB1 by making seasons 1-4 into the lolnonplateau. There needs to be an incentive for teams to want to win in every season. If that means a reward for adding your SPs like a good little agent, fine. If it is a punishment for trying to game the system by holding a hundred-thousand+ SPs, fine. I'd rather a carrot than a stick, but leave it to the internet to say "I didn't earn my carrot, therefore it is a stick".

Great idea. I think it is beyond sad that players can't login for 5 minutes a day to play a game they spent real money on and are on a team with other people somewhat relying on their ability to work together a bit. I get it that some people are busy sometimes, but the feeling I get from a majority is they are just too lazy to log in more than once or twice a week. That not only cripples teams but the whole game when enough of the population is so unreliable, disinterested, and completely unfocused.
Giving an incentive such as TT's can only be a good thing for the game. The more active agents are the more likely and often they will spend flex - so giving away those last 2 boosts for free won't hurt the bank.

And how are we talking about removing or not gaining anymore SP after like 100K? It's 750 a game, that's 4,500 at most a week, 7k if you gain a level during that time. If you can't log in once in a week, sorry. If you can't log in once in like 2-3 weeks, players released or retired, sorry. Even in other casual games where people don't spend money players log in way more often than this. I don't want anyone on my team or on a team I am playing that only logs in once a week.

...more if your dot is a superstar and gained a level. And I was talking specifically about the 7500 number he threw out there for "free boosts at the end of career." I can easily see a normally active agent having a one week access loss for something or other. It's possible *I* will be logged off for a full week at some point during this year, but other than that I'm absurdly active. Would suck to miss out qualifying on two free boosts for all my active players (okay I don't have very many, but others do) just because of a week off.
Why not just have one of those "click here for your daily bonus" buttons and have it give out tiny bits of flex if you wanted to go that route - 1-5 flex points or something. Then people don't get hugely screwed for missing one or five, but if they only login once a month they aren't getting jack out of it.

Because those click here for 1-5 daily flex buttons give a bigger value for people who build fewer dots, unless the button is on every dot, in which case someone better build me a script to hit all those buttons or I wouldn't bother.
The number I threw out there isn't a mandatory cap... but if you haven't assigned SPs for 10 days, you probably shouldn't get the bonus. There's internet access pretty much everywhere in the world, if you don't care about logging in for your bonus, then you don't get the carrot.

That is a good idea too. But I believe it would be better to make that an SP bonus instead of flex. A flex bonus can keep players with only one dot from ever making a purchase in the game. A small ~10 SP bonus per day for each dot, in one button click, wouldn't be too big of an advantage or disadvantage for a few days missed. It'd probably be enough for the hardcore guys and min maxes to make sure they got every single one, and they could be rewarded for their activity and dedication. Plus, it would encourage people to log in on their off day and maybe check the forums or see new PMs earlier. Maybe even put the button link in the team forums so you can have some comfort everyone on your team actually visits regularly?
