Hit someone without allowing them to gain extra yardage. You'll see that the number of tackles is = to the number of sticks in some cases, but sticks will never be higher.
Bort didn't want all tackles to be either "broken" or "made", so he made it so that power runners would be able to grind out yards after contact against players with low tackling skills, even if they weren't able to completely break the tackle.
That's why you have Tackling Tech, Grip, Power, and Strip.

Idk why that's a stat lol I think it should get taken out
ya because no one playing this game wants extra stats, most of us are here just to look at a build guide set to auto train and leave till the end of the season

stick will be valuable info later down the road IMO to assess a players tackling skills, especially against power backs....

Lol okay well we might as well add a stat for every time a receiver successfully fakes a corner, every time a running back jukes someone out, and every time a defensive player isn't faked out, as well. Let's add every time that a qb avoids a sack in the pocket and every time that a defensive lineman successfully breaks off of a block. Gimme a break...if you want to see how your players are doing, watch them play

yes yes we can all argue with reductio ad absurdum. But you really havent given an actual reason for getting rid of the stat.

Stopping a player .5 yards or less after contacting for the tackle.

It's a silly stat. There's a tackle stat, then a "how good are your hold ground and power tackling attributes" stat. It's impossible to argue that there's any good reason to keep record of "sticks"....if you're making a lot of tackles, it's implied that not all of them are pretty but that a lot of them are. It does nothing for me but clutter the statistics bar
